Envirosafe Rating Info

The Envirosafe Solutions industrial chemical safety ratings help buyers find safe and effective products quickly. We offer a reliable reference for choosing liquids that protect both the user and the environment.

Specifically, our management team places a heavy emphasis on high performance. We believe that chemicals should be very effective while maintaining a low impact on nature. Therefore, we focus on offering products that are safe to use in any industrial setting.

Envirosafe Solutions™ director Murray Simon says this:

The many issues associated with the use of toxic chemicals used in a vast range of products are coming to light, and slowly we are beginning to appreciate that there is in fact considerable long term harm that results from the use of these products. These are what I would term the hidden costs—costs in terms of damage to the environment; health-related costs, both to us as individuals and to companies in the form of lost time as a result of injury/illness; and finally the costs involved in the storage and transport of dangerous goods.

We strongly urge you to consider the hidden costs of these usually toxic and often misrepresented as ‘cheap(er)’ products, which invariably they are not when you consider all the factors. At best they are cost comparable with ours on face value; however, most of our clients are pleasantly surprised when they find out the prices in our range of non-toxic products are competitive with what they are using now, not to mention their astonishment at how effective they are!

A closer look at our industrial chemical safety rating system

Rating System

The Envirosafe Solutions “Extreme Green” range is made under strict license. We rate these products in collaboration with an independent chemist. Furthermore, our rating is derived from Worksafe WA technical data (MSDS) and current regulatory standards. This system provides a transparent look at the safety profile of every product.

We developed this system specifically for the busy professional. It serves as a “ready reckoner” for your site. Consequently, you can quickly assess how a product performs across the three areas most impacted by industrial compounds:

  • User Safety
  • Environmental Health
  • Storage/Transport Risks.

Compare our industrial chemical safety ratings against common generic products —the difference in OHS and environmental impact might surprise you.

Industrial chemical safety ratings
Industrial Hand Cleaner contains no petro solvents and relies on naturally occurring orange oil as its solvent component.
Petrosolvents - Petroleum based additives are flammable and are transported as hazardous goods.
Kerosine - Toxicity from hydrocarbon ingestion can affect many different organs, but the lungs are the most commonly affected organ.

With Graffiti Remover, harmful acids are not a worry. Whilst a far safer option, Graffiti Remover works equally as well (or better!) than its more hazardous competitors.
Harmful Acids - Highly caustic products containing Hydrofluoric Acid are extremely hazardous when used for graffiti removal.
Fluorides - Workers in the industries that use or produce fluoride compounds are at greatest risk of exposure.
Industrial chemical safety ratings
Our dishwasher liquids are caustic free and contains scale removers to keep machines scale free.
Caustics: Cause tissue injury by chemical reaction, damaging tissue by donating or accepting protons in solution.
Industrial chemical safety ratings
Our cleaners are caustic free, contain low or no phosphates, and are safer to use while performing at optimum levels.
Competitor's products often contain free caustics and/or harsh acids and represent a potential health and environment risk.
Caustics (Sodium Hydroxide): Can cause severe chemical burns to skin/eyes and damage the upper respiratory tract.
Industrial chemical safety ratings
Our degreasers are water-based and contain no harmful solvents, making them non-toxic and non-flammable.
INCLUDE UNHEALTHY SOLVENTS AND SPIRITS. Many degreasers contain solvents such as kerosene, white spirits, etc. and present problems with disposal and health risks to operators.
Kerosine - Toxicity from hydrocarbon ingestion can affect many different organs, but the lungs are the most commonly affected organ. width=

SOLVENT FREE. Our degreasers are water-based and contain no harmful solvents, making them non-toxic and non-flammable.
RELY ON HARSH, POTENTIALLY FATAL SOLVENTS. Traditionally harsh solvents such as Xylene, Toluene, MEK and the like are used for removing glue. These are quite harmful in use and represent health issues with operators.
Xylene: Short-term exposure of people to high levels of xylene can cause irritation of the skin, eyes, nose, and throat
Toluene: A serious health concern is that toluene may have an effect on your brain
MEK: Breathing methyl ethyl ketone for short periods of time (i.e. painting in a poorly ventilated area) can affect the nervous system

We developed this system to take the guesswork out of chemical safety for you and your staff. In addition, we continue to refine our “Extreme Green” standards to meet new regulations. Your feedback is invaluable to us as we grow.
