Description
Extreme Green Sustainable Dust Suppressant is a high-performance, bio-derived sustainable dust suppressant and road stabilisation system specifically engineered for unsealed surfaces in mining, civil construction, quarrying, and industrial operations.
Unlike traditional water-based suppression that only offers temporary relief, our formula utilizes Australian lignosulfonate—a naturally derived polymer extracted during the pulp and paper manufacturing process. This sustainable dust suppressant technology works by binding fine particles together, significantly reducing airborne dust generation, improving road durability, and lowering operational costs.
Uses for Sustainable Dust Suppressant:
Our sustainable dust suppressant is a highly active dust suppressant and soil stabiliser, used across a range of industries that have issues with dust control. Primarily used on unsealed haul roads, mine site access roads, civil construction roads, quarry roads, stockpile areas, industrial yards, temporary access tracks, and bulk transport yards. For a more detailed look at how to manage these areas effectively, you can review our guide on Effective Mine Site Dust Management.
Benefits:
- Superior Fines Retention: Stabilises the “fine” fraction of the road surface to keep the road intact rather than just “stopping dust.”
- Eco-Friendly Chemistry: Derived from renewable Australian lignin, providing a sustainable, bio-based alternative to synthetic suppressants.
- Indigenous Manufacturing: Proudly manufactured in Australia by an Indigenous-owned chemical company.
- Operational Efficiency: Improves operator visibility, protects heavy machinery from dust-related wear, and ensures environmental compliance.
- Simplified Handling: Classified as non-hazardous, making transport, storage, and site handling straightforward and safe.
- Versatile Application: Effective for both surface spraying and mix-in stabilisation during road construction.
- Reduce Water Cart Frequency: Will reduce the frequency of water cart applications, saving fuel, water, time, and money.
Point of Difference:
- Bio-Derived Polymer: Utilises Australian lignosulfonate for natural, flexible bonding that doesn’t become brittle under traffic.
- Road Stabilisation: Shifts the focus from temporary water application to long-term road fines retention.
- Locally Sourced: Manufactured using locally sourced raw materials from the Australian pulp and paper industry.
- Flexible Application: Can be applied via water cart for maintenance or mixed-in for deep-layer construction and rehabilitation.
Directions for Use:
Application Methods:
- Surface Treatment: Dilute and spray onto road surfaces using a water cart or spray truck. Ideal for haul roads, stockpiles, and industrial yards.
- Mix-In Stabilisation: Integrate directly into the soil profile during road construction or rehabilitation for deeper, longer-lasting stabilisation.
Example Water Cart Application:
- Dilution: 1:4 to 1:10 with water.
- Application Rate: 1.0 – 2.0 L/m² of total solution.
- Coverage: A 1,000 L water cart covers roughly 1,200–1,600 m² depending on the application rate.
Practical Rule of Thumb (Mining Sites):
- Initial treatment: ~ 1.8–2.0 L/m²
- Maintenance spray: ~ 1.0–1.5 L/m²
Factors That Change the Rate:
Rates may increase when traffic volume is high, road fines content is low, the climate is very hot or dry, road speeds are high, or the surface is extremely dusty.
Simple Operator Guideline:
Initial treatment: ~ 1.8 L/m² | Maintenance: ~ 1.2 L/m²
Note: For optimal results, ensure the road surface has an appropriate distribution of particle sizes.
